For this assignment I chose to quote James Baldwin. I am currently reading some of James Baldwin, specifically Giovanni’s Room. James Baldwin had relationships with many woman and men throughout his lifetime, and just chose love no matter the recipient. In the novel, Giovanni’s Room a man is caught between his love for his wife and another man. I found this quote very fitting because it seems to speak very truthfully. Baldwin loved both men and women, with no true preference other than love. This mentality shows through Giovanni’s Room because of the protagonist acts with his wife and his other relations. How James says, art is a confession of the soul and the person who is writing it.
