From the QCQ’s that I have read I have noticed similar patterns among the depiction of women, conformity and femininity from the past and now. Many of us have had similar commentary on the treatment and depiction of women during the 1800’s and how it is vastly different from the time we are in now. The views that Bronte imposed through her novel are telling of the time and how the treatment of women needed to be changed. I am interested to see how the aspects of Jane’s character changes and further shows the treatment and views of women during this time period.

The class focused on many different parts of the story within their commonplace books. I really liked the diverse interpretations of text and how some parts of the story are viewed. A few that I visited commented on the omens within the novel and the use of foreshadowing which I wasn’t looking for while I read. I really like how everyone does something a little different on their commonplace books.
